I MAY BE A GREAT BLOGGER OF MY OWN WORLD BUT I'M HUNGRY TOO!

Verse 13 of Bhartruhari Neetisathakam says,

'harthuryaathi na gocharam kimapi sham pushnaathi yathsarvadhaa
pyarthibhyah prathipaadhyamaanamanisham praapnothi vrudhdhim paraam
kalpaantheshvapi na prayaathi nidhanaam vidhyaakhyamanthardhanam
yeshaam thaasprathi maanamujgha tha nrupaah kasthaissaha spardhathe!'

Meaning..

'Giving knowledge to others is the greatest service (on the earth). It cannot be stolen by thieves. It gives utmost happiness and makes one only resourceful. Such service does not diminish thru' time; instead it grows and can never be destroyed. The donations of a wealthy king may diminish and be destroyed at anytime but the knowledge spread by a wise man stays forever!'

Here alone the saying,

"The pen is mightier than the sword!"

Becomes predominant and definitely it's true too as setting right issues thru' the use of sword meaning muscle power, however easy may look is always temporary compared to the real transformation that good blogging brings about!

Coming back to the concept of work in our day to day life, the Great Saint alone could say,

“I need not do any work. I need not learn anything!"

When asked how He could live without working, the Great Philosopher replied,

“I do not have any desires to satisfy!"

When pointed out how He could get his basic necessities like food in life to sustain, the Master said,

“Some of you may feed me. If not, I'll go hungry and in that process if the body perishes, let it go!”

As I'm far away from that Great Strength, working is the 'safest way' for me in my life!

Thru' Sloka 10, Chapter III of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna asserts the same as the primary duty with every individual as one lives thru' his/her life thus..

'saha yagnah prajah srstva purovaca prajapatihanena prasvisyadhvam esa vo stv ista kama dhuk'

'In the beginning of creation, Lord Brahma after generating all beings as a result of performance of sacrifice unto the Supreme Lord proclaimed: by performance of work (rising to the level of ultimate sacrifice i.e., self denial) may you evolve and prosper; let work (progressively rising towards sacrifice) bestow all that desirable for you!'

This is once again confirmed by the Great Man of the Ashram when a man asked for some food as he was hungry. The Great Personality said,

"Do this equivalent work, I'll give you food!"

When the man retorted saying that how a man collapsing with hunger could do any work, the Great Personality said,

"In that case, I'll give you food. Eat, relax for a while but finish my work and go!"

When the man refused to do that accusing the Noble Personality as cruel, the Great Man said,

"I don't mind. You can go now. You will not get food here!"

Thus seen, working and taking care of the self at the optimum or decent level becomes the parallel duty of every blogger charged with the keen interest of pouring out volumes of truth known at his/her level and he/she should necessarily divert part of those sayings to earn money and make a decent living..

In that context alone sets in the business interest associated with blogging and as every effort has a price in the market, depending upon the worldly use of that effort put in, certain returns do come in the process to the individual without an exception..

As appearances are equally important, a better way of presenting this expression may have its own value here and at this point of time, I as a Blogger being the limited personality with my own inherent desires should never say no that flow all along checking myself in keeping up the tempo of my talk/writing with which originally I started my blogging and should continue thus..

The Great Man once said,

"If all Living Beings of the Universe stand in queue as per their strengths, I wish to stand behind the last tiniest One in the queue!"

Thereby making it very clear in respect of certain definite sacrifices required from each individual while addressing a problem in the world en-mass!

And here alone ever lies the responsibility of a Blogger too being part of the greater change continuously taking place around all along retaining one's own freedom of expression to the max in a given situation!

The Post is written in line with this week's IndiSpire Prompt Ten or less entries for Indispire topics BUT hundreds for a contest... what does this reflect about the state of blogging in India? #BloggingTruth

  4. Hello Sreedhar Sir , Your whole article is holistic , for bloggers as well as for all , who wonder , why I am not getting the worth of my work. And still I have doubt about ' 'Karmanye vadhikaraste ma Phaleshu kadachan '. Why should we invest our precious Time & intelligence, without gaining it's worth . When I want to earn Rs. 5000 , I will write an article for that worth.

    1. That's so nice of you to say so, Sujata Tawde and thanks for the same.. Regarding the clarification on Verse of Srimad Bhagavad Gita..'Karmanye vadhikaraste.......', I sincerely feel that the message never conveys the meaning..'Never bother for the appropriate returns for the work done' It's one's duty to fight and get the right payments for all contributions made whatever the field of contribution be and in that context the blogger is 100% right in doing the blogging job demanding the best returns for the sacred task done.. The Verse of Gita just says in such a situation that individual better remain calm after what all required is done and patiently wait for the next happening.. Hope I could clarify the point here..

Thanks again for a valuable enquiry on the Post message and I hope I could clarify the point.. Wishes!

  5. Effort and monetary earnings have been linked by human psyche... but they are not necessarily the ultimate truth. The art of writing by being an art would have its own set of benefits that bloggers don't seem to be realizing. But seeing the way indispire participation is going, will it be fine to suggest that an incentive be added to it?
